Daily Bandwidth Usage Over 1 GB ?

February 26, 2007 on 7:24 am

Few months ago, I installed the BitMeter II applications to monitor the bandwidth usage of my laptop. You should install it too. It’s freeware and packed with useful features, including bandwidth limit reminder (should you need one ) ), and so far I did not feel any performance penalties.

It’s only today that I found this tool also records the monthly bandwidth usage, and quite surprising it is ) .

Man United is Going to Win The Premiership

February 25, 2007 on 1:13 am

After the — undeserved ) — 2-1 victory against Fulham today, United are 9 points clear of Chelsea (albeit with one more game played) with 10 more games to go. I bet they are going to go on to win this year’s Barclays Premiership.

The performance today was surely not their best. A disjointed performance. The defenders were uncharacteristically wobbly (as far as I remember, I have never seen Sir Alex tactically reshuffles the defense by substituting 2 defenders during one match), the midfield was overrun by Fulham’s (Scholes played more in defensive midfielder position o it was fortunate that he was only given one yellow card), Rooney was running around as always but he was not as sharp as usual, and so Larsson was non-existent.

So, what makes me convinced that they are going to go on to win the Premiership? It’s the team spirit and togetherness. This is most apparent when Ronaldo scored the winning goal in the 88th minutes. He ran to the bench, and all the team members were mobbing him in joy. What a wonderful thing to watch yes . This is what happened after Ronaldo scored (courtesy of BBC).

Let’s go back here on May 13th when the season end (or perhaps sooner? ) ) to see if I am right.

Update: I forgot to mention the view of Sir Alex Ferguson jumping around in jubilation like a child D . Reminding me of what happened 4 years (?) ago when Giggs scored against Arsenal in (the old) Highbury to tie up the score 2-2 that more or less wrap up the title race of that year. Also, I’ve got the video for the Ronaldo’s goal and the celebration. See it for yourself (Courtesy of brain26 @ fbtz.com) Note: also pay attention how Rooney leapt out in joy once the ball is in the net. Childish lol .

Update 2: Gary Lineker writes in the same wave-length as me ) .

Languages in Indonesia

February 17, 2007 on 6:24 pm

From Gordon, Raymond G., Jr. (ed.), 2005. Ethnologue: Languages of the World, Fifteenth edition. Dallas, Tex.: SIL International, online version: http://www.ethnologue.com/.

Republic of Indonesia, Republik Indonesia. 238,452,952. National or official language: Indonesian. Literacy rate: 78% to 85%. … … … The number of languages listed for Indonesia is 742. Of those, 737 are living languages, 2 are second language without mother-tongue speakers, and 3 are extinct.

Wow o I know that there are many local languages in Indonesia, but never expect the number to be over 700. The next time somebody asked me what kind of language Indonesian people speak with, I can confidently provide them with this astonishing statistic ) .

Phew, lucky that we have Bahasa Indonesia then yes .

PS. The site also provides interesting maps in where the languages are mainly used. There are 20 languages alone in Java and Bali. Ckckck, so many things I have not known even from my own region where I grew up ) .
