Labbaikallaahumma labbaik

January 15, 2007 on 12:39 am

The presenter on the Midori meeting yesterday was Yose and Verro who was just returned from their hajj pilgrimage. Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam and must be performed at least once for muslims who are capable of doing it. So many wonderful and touching stories I have ever heard related to this. Whether it is the one that have to make a saving for his/her whole life so that they manage to fulfill their dreams (and even also wishing that they will somehow does not have to return, that is to die in the holy land), and also many spiritual experiences they encountered during the hajj. It is the time when the reward and punishment is paid instantly, so that we have to always try to purify our heart. Always emphasizing that we do the Hajj only and only for Allah. Labbaikallahumma labbaik … Here I am O Allah, here I am, fulfilling your call.

Migrated

January 13, 2007 on 8:31 pm

Hurray… the blog is finally migrated here: www.zalfany.info/blog/ You may need to update your RSS feed as necessary (www.zalfany.info/blog/feed/) * and I promise this should be the permanent address for good — as long as I don’t forget to renew the domain name registration ) ) *

So what do I get with the new and independent domain? Basically so that I can freely use the latest and full featured version of the blog engine (Wordpress), including the plugins, theme customization, etc. The last time I rant about where to host the blog is due to cost consideration. Well, this consideration still apply now (and will always apply for later cases D ) but when you get a web hosting package like this for 8.34 USD for a whole year (that is 90% off, webhostingtalk rulezz!!), who could resist? ) Except that one year from now, when it comes to the renewal I may have to start scrambling for another super cheap deal * ssshh.. the webhosting administrator shouldn’t ever read this D *

The migration proves to be smoother than I expected. I did not expect to be able to migrate my old posts from blogsome, but it turned out to be very easy. Thank’s to Dudi Gurnadi’s guidance here (for the posts) and here (for the comments). The post migrations is even easier than what was written there, because in Wordpress 2.0.6 the facilities to import posts from RSS feeds have been nicely integrated in the Dashboard. For the comment, use the scripts from the second link. It worked flawlessly (except that the comment number on each post seems to be not updated, thus they all show 0 comment, but this is just a minor annoyance). Many thank’s.

Enough ranting. Start writing another purposeful post here (as if there is ever any ) ).

Does your wife do this too?

January 9, 2007 on 7:33 pm

Just found a very very interesting blog where results of polls and survey on various topics on Japanese are posted. Appropriately it is named “世論 What Japan Thinks”. I just can’t stop laughing when I read this one:

Does your wife do this too?

Trivia no Izumi (Fount/Spring of Trivia) outdid itself tonight, with a survey to find out when people who had been married for three years first heard their wife pass gas! They interviewed 1000 Japanese husbands by means of an internet poll, and as you can see in the pie chart on the right, almost half the wives (43%) couldn’t keep it in for more than a year. 29% first let rip in the second year, 16% avoided a bottom burp until their third year, and 12% of husbands have been spared their wives’ anal emissions.

… [read the rest from the link above ] …

Hehehe.. Cantik, did you ever ‘break wind’ near me? If yes, when was the first time? ;)
